Gmail access
One narrowly scoped permission.
For mailbox access, Mailbrief requests only the Gmail OAuth scopegmail.readonly. It uses that permission solely to read and synchronize messages for the user-facing classification and analysis features.
Processing
Useful results, not another archive.
Message content is cleaned and minimized in memory. Mailbrief stores structured results for limited periods; original messages stay with the mail provider. Selected, bounded text is sent to OpenAI only when local processing cannot produce the requested result.
